To say that I ABSOLUTELY HATE this process would be an understatement! But every year, in October, with my birthday as a marker, I anxiously don my unflattering #pink gown, I head over to this room, stand up to this machine, and get this done. For my friends who’ve been diagnosed, those watching from heaven, and those fighting from earth… For me… I do it. To my amazing, beautiful, intelligent, resilient, strong, A through Z cupped, filled, and blessed lady friends out there… the ones I know, and the ones I am yet to meet… Self care isn’t just about facials and massages and quiet evenings in your bathrobe…it’s also this: taking care of your body and being knowledgeable about your health. So…Grab your pink gown, walk bravely into the room, stand up to that machine, and Get checked! To be honest… I’m not ready to bid adieu to 2024! So much happened this year. So many lessons. Celebrations. Moments. Surprises. Blessings. Opportunities. Love. Life!! I began my #YearofJubilee this year…and I’m excited about all that will come with that! I pushed myself this year. ALL of me! And I feel amazing. I learned even more about myself. As a #woman. A #mom. A #wife. A friend. A performer. I dug up buried hindrances and faults, and tried (and I’m trying) to discard them…Replacing them with Joy and acceptance. Peace and hope! Contentment and Love. It’s been a good year…even when there were tears, anxieties, and uncertain moments. It was STILL a great year. Our kids and my husband are healthy. Happy. Loved, and loving 🙌🏽. And so am I: Happy. Loved. And loving. God has been. Is… And will continue to be #Good, and as I watch the clock switch tonight…Even if I find myself a little sad to say goodbye… as ‘24 exits stage left, I’ll be here, #ready to embrace #2025. I can be very critical of my work and things I do…I may be…AM…my toughest critic!! But as I watched this, I found myself very emotional. Teary. Grateful! Wanting to speak to that girl in the rehearsal room…letting her know what a legacy she was embarking on. @thelionking is such a part of my history as a performer and a woman. #Nala taught me so much on and off the stage. And so, to be able to sing #Shadowland, surrounded by former cast members and lionesses, on THIS stage, with THIS group, on THIS night, for THIS celebration, is not lost on me. It’s more than I could imagine. Thank you @disneytheatricals_, @disneyplus, and everyone involved. Head over to #Disney and join in the party… It really was one fit for a king! #lionkingatthebowl

Our gym is doing a challenge today… 110 floor stair climb in 30 minutes on the #stairmaster in honor of the #firefighters who did the same 23 years ago today. So, I did it, but of course with No gear. No heavy equipment. Air free of smoke. Water bottle close by. Music and a movie for motivation. No urgency of terror threat or people dying and needing me. No concern for the unknown. And yet… There was nothing easy about that!! Much more the #brave people who climbed to save others that day. Many losing their own lives. For the souls lost. The brave. The innocents. The families who still mourn and remember them…. #neverforget. #911
