During the first White House briefing of the second Trump term, I asked about Trump firing prosecutors who have civil service protections and the more than dozen government watchdogs without giving Congress the required 30 days notice.
In a remarkable moment, tonight President Trump proposed that the U.S. should take over Gaza, arguing that neighboring states should take in the nearly two million Palestinians who live there, despite refusals by Egypt and Jordan. Trump told me he wanted to turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Behind closed doors today, President Trump signed a settlement agreement with Meta, ending the lawsuit he brought against them for suspending his social media accounts after Jan. 6. Per the terms, Meta will pay out $25 million — $22 million of which will go to his future presidential library, I’m told.
