this year, we couldn’t get the family together until the 27th, so we had our Christmas Day celebration today. the family arrived last night as we finished making our 5 hour beef rendang (taken from a @chrissyteigen recipe) and then ate peppermint meringues as we watched ELF. this morning, we were visited by THE CHRISTMAS SQUIRREL™️. For those who don’t know, THE CHRISTMAS SQUIRREL shows up very early and holds all of Santa’s presents hostage. He will hand them to you one at a time, but in order to get your present, you need to ACT NUTS. Molly and I decided to give each other a joint present this year, and we were delighted to discover a new piece for our home by an artist we really love, @luciaheffernan ! Now we will sit around and bake zucchini bread and chicken soup and whatever other bullshit we think up. Our Christmas traditions build upon each other every year, and we think it’s a fun way to make every Christmas morning feel just a little different. For what it’s worth, THE CHRISTMAS SQUIRREL will be back next year! We hope everyone had a great holiday season, no matter what you celebrate, and remember to try your best to have as much fun as you can. ♥️

honeymoon diaries part 2 📗 the second part of our honeymoon was a return to the place we got engaged, Hokkaido. and more specifically Niseko. and ever more specifically @zaborin.ryokan we spent 3 nights here, staring at birds, watching the snow fall, and soaking in hot springs. we literally only left our room to eat incredible kaiseki meals prepared on site (we also went to 7/11 once to get a bunch of candy) 5 years after we got engaged here, it was really lovely to be back. this was the “talk about our relationship while staring into each others half open eyes for 72 hours” portion of the honeymoon. spoiler alert, it was our favorite!
truly thrilled, dizzy, screaming, grateful, and can’t believe we get to go on this ride!!! Oh, Hi!, directed by @sophbrooks and starring @mollsterg @loganlerman @yoyogeraldine @john_p_reynolds will have its world premiere at #SUNDANCE see you all there!!!
