This might not directly be related to my acting work but for the joy that pursuing something I thought I’d love (and ended up really, really enjoying) brought me, I thought I’d document it here. When I signed up for the celta course, I didn’t expect to get so lost in the ELT (English Language Teaching) Universe. But as days passed, as we taught, as we sat for feedback, we realised what a wildly immersive experience it was. It is one of those experiences, the intricacies of which I could probably go on talking about. Seeing our learners come in everyday, eager to learn, getting anxious about feedback, feeling like a child in a candy store during pronunciation-input sessions, I’d do it all, all over again. Although the celta course is a tiny part of the ELT universe, the one month we spent with our learners and our mentors is something I think about very often. Here’s to going after everything we love and experiences that bring us joy 🙂
