Monday 2/17 join us for another film and music salon on the magical rooftop of Petit Ermitage Hotel. CMP’s collaboration @petits_salons is a beautiful ongoing community building event hosted by Cheshire Moon Productions, Darby Gaelle Hannon and Blkbrd Films. Doors open at 7:00pm where you can settle into the evening atmosphere. Grab a drink, great food, and listen to live music before moving to the firedeck for the 8pm screening. Our featured musician is PJ Costello @pjcostello: proud Canadian multi-hyphenate punk alternative performer. We’ll showcase @mydeaddadmovie, now available at @streamonmax. MY DEAD DAD focuses on the complexities of grief and finding one’s own way in the way of an estranged parent’s death. The film’s journey from idea to script to set to distribution is an admirable one we are looking forward to sharing with you. The screening will be followed by a discussion with co-writer and star Pedro Correa @pedrocorrea.mov, with a discussion lead by co-host @jamesaaronoliver. In our discussion, we hope to dive into the current state of men’s mental health and how we can heal through creation and shared mythology. Pedro Correa has also spear-headed an incredible organization to help with the aftermath of the fires, LA FAMILY RELIEF, which we will share more information about and ways in which we can all help out. **This screening will include a special appearance by the filmmakers of MY DEAD DAD** Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with fellow arthouse film lovers. These lyrics… This beautiful song by Sufjan Stevens… At first glance I thought it was about shame… the overwhelming sensation of love… when passion becomes destructive… but the melody and instrumentation was so delicate… I had to let it touch my heart and so my own greif in order to understand it. The paradox of love is in the sorrow it brings which is both inevitable and inexplicable. Thank you music. Thank you poetry. I haven’t sung on stage for 8 years. This song gently brought me back to my voice to integrate and share a much deeper and softer expression… after having become a mother. The Mystery of Love Oh, to see without my eyes The first time that you kissed me Boundless by the time I cried I built your walls around me White noise, what an awful sound Fumbling by Rogue River Feel my feet above the ground Hand of God, deliver me Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me The first time that you touched me Oh, will wonders ever cease? Blessed be the mystery of love Lord, I no longer believe Drowned in living waters Cursed by the love that I received From my brother’s daughter Like Hephaestion, who died Alexander’s lover Now my riverbed has dried Shall I find no other? Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me I’m running like a plover Now I’m prone to misery The birthmark on your shoulder reminds me How much sorrow can I take? Blackbird on my shoulder And what difference does it make When this love is over? Shall I sleep within your bed? River of unhappiness Hold your hands upon my head ‘Til I breathe my last breath Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me The last time that you touched me Oh, will wonders ever cease? Blessed be the mystery of love Guitar @jonahgarb Cello @oliverkrausmusic

In Her Name is currently featured as one of the Tribeca Award Winners @fandango at home. The film premiered on the festival circuit @tribeca and won The People’s Choice Audience Award in 2022. After two years and 50 awards internationally CMP secured a distribution deal with Tribeca Films, a collaboration with Giant Pictures and Drafthouse Films to give independent filmmakers a shot at recouping their budgets in creative ways. Thank you to everyone who ordered the limited edition blu-Ray @amazon. You can still order, rate, and review, a great way to see the film add to your collection. When a film is released on a new platform traffic helps the algorithm continue to promote the film to wider audiences. Buy and share the film @fandango today, leave a heartfelt review and generous rating. Let us know so we can thank you. It’s a miracle for any film without an upfront distribution deal in place or A list star power to make it out into the film market, even after the most successful festival run, but an art film even more so. This film can be the story that reminds Tribeca Films and smaller production companies to continue to bet on smaller films that reach audiences despite odds. Directed by Sarah Carter, In Her Name is a magical and transformative film that lingers in hearts and minds. Now is the time to leave your rating and review on @fandango or your favorite streamer, film review outlet, or IMDb. Thank you for loving the first feature film to be released @cheshiremoonproductions Link in bio.

@cheshiremoonproductions is co-hosting Monday Night Music & Film Salons at @PetitErmitageHotel @petits_salons with @darbygaellehannon and @blkbrdfilms Our event on Monday, January 27th, will be a tribute to perhaps the most important independent filmmaker and artist of our time David Lynch who left us just last week. Hollywood has been through tremendous loss with the recent fires to lose David Lynch in the flesh as well, someone who acted as almost a surrogate father to many of us dreamers, seems too much to imagine rising up through, but we have to. His message is one that we can put into practice more than ever before, to ‘look within’ to find the beauty, bliss, and joy, and to create from there… to believe in our dreams… to work towards them everyday… and live to make the world brighter and better. We will gather for music and a group meditation in The Wiggle Room at 7pm. Doors will close at 7:30pm for a period of silence before moving to the firedeck for a screening of inspirational clips of David Lynch and his films. After the screening we will hold space to honor the great work of David Lynch, discuss his legacy, share any personal insights and our heartfelt appreciation for his contribution to our lives and work as artists. These evenings are community building and an ongoing collaboration between Petit Ermitage, Darby Gaelle Hannon, Cheshire Moon Productions, and BLKBRD Films. Don’t miss out on this very special evening and unique opportunity to network with fellow arthouse film lovers. Tickets for this event only are an optional donation between $10 & $25. Valet parking for ticket holders is $15. If you are hurting this event promises to be an opportunity to refuel and receive support. We will laugh, love, listen, share, and drink to the man. @sarah_carter_oxox
David Lynch is a hero, inspiration, and Saint in our home. His passing feels too soon. Another huge loss for Hollywood dreamers. His is a legacy and life to remember as we wake up in these ashes. His mission was to help us travel inward first to find the beauty… catch the big fish… and bring it to the table… new ideas… new visions… everyday… no matter what… do the work… live the dream. I’m so grateful Alice has been exposed to his genius not only as filmmaker but as a spirit. She listened to his KCRW weather reports regularly, his great taste in music, she has learned and practiced transcendental meditation with me, she has watched his documentary The Art Life, mesmerized, and she has heard his name dropped as a cinematic reference at least once in any share of a vision for a new film in our family. My husband @kevinxbarth framed his portrait and hung it on our bathroom wall last year as a daily reminder to be awesome. One of the highlights of my career was hearing that my screenplay had been sent to him. He is the one who gave me permission to “go there”. The weirdest most beautiful, specific, and simply true expression of an impulse… I am more galvanized than ever to make my next film… that one… it’s a huge fish… He will remain one of my greatest influences as an artist and spiritual being… art heals. It really is the devotional practice of doing… diving deep and doing the thing from that place of joy… absurdity… the light in the dark. May we all find inner peace, bliss, and inspiration in the depths of our subconscious as we continue to usher our dreams into reality… through this challenge… in his honor… this was what he hoped to leave us with… a way to find our bliss and share it… play it out… no matter how bizarre… how wonderful… how dark… find lightness. It’s there in the depth of quietness. Who we are and what we do makes a huge difference. Finding and creating joy… he touched and changed so many lives… being himself. My heart goes out to his inner circle and his family. What a huge loss. What a bright star. May he shine even brighter for us… Thank you David Lynch 🌟 @davidlynchfoundation @davidlynch @davidlynchweatherreport
