Sayani Gupta Instagram – I landed in Amritsar this morning. Last time I was here two days ago my heart was restless to ‘matha theko’ at the Golden Temple. (Something I realised I’ve been blessed enough to do almost every year for the last 12 years)
I had said I’d go on the 12th. Realised there was a big Jayanti.
It also happened to be my Father’s 16th anniversary.
In those 4 hours between landing this morning and shoot, the obvious priority of sleep was set aside.
I ended up spending those 4 hours nourishing the soul. Although it was crowded, it was calm and so so uplifting. That’s the thing about Sikhism.. Seva at the core. To give. To serve. Unconditionally.
One couldn’t help thinking that with so many people, it was so beautifully managed..
clean space and cleaner aura.
I prayed for almost two hours, sitting calmly.. at a spot that was miraculously empty in the middle of all the bustle. Two women offered to take some photos too.
The Khaada Prasad nourished the soul.
Because of the traffic, I took to public transport.. both times two beautiful gentleman who had the most gorgeous energy only made my day richer.
As I waited for some Kulchas to get packed for me & my team, they called me into the shop and started explaining their process. M sure they thought the ‘tourist’ needed to be educated.
They and the kulchas were fab!
I shot with some individuals in the evening who I’ve waited to work with. Absolutely delight of a cast & crew.
There was bonfire, and there was the ever glowing full moon.
Even after 16 years, my father, who I believe flew away as a bird, is still around with glimpses in of his warmth, lightness and glow of spirit.
The Sun & The Moon both shone brightly.
