The @SaintHeron Studio: Studio, Showroom, Archive, & Library, for @Flos Icons Couldn’t be more proud to have the @Flos Icons to be a part of this moment. The Saint Heron Studio functions as both a creative atelier and a living gallery, showroom, and archive and embodies our institution’s vision—where artistry is not only displayed but lived. I founded Saint Heron in 2013, and to see it evolve into the institution, studio, agency, archive, and library it’s become has been one of my most sacred achievements. It took us 12 long years, but to have finally designed a space that invites all the elements Saint Heron embodies, including all the design work I’ve been slowly refining (The Small Matter Sofa, Desk, and Chairs) makes this a space a living embodiment of the works I hope live far beyond us all:) I’ve been @Flos girlie and collector for some time now, so to have the icons like the Taccia, Biagio, and Toio to illuminate my creative practices, is a dreammm. Interior Designer: Solange Knowles Saint Heron Spatial Design and Furniture Design: Solange Knowles for Saint Heron Design Steward: Tione Trice of @ofthecloth.us and @studiotionetrice Project Management: Chris Kauffman @mr1of1 Contractor: Brian Suber of Area Seven @jeneralssuber Photographer: Clement Pascal @cgbp Ty so much @bb.corti and Grace and the whole Flos team for your incredible support of our practice 💡

in conversation with @wangechistudio for @documentjournal, shot by @joshuawoods “i discovered through discussions with a Cancer girlfriend that water spoke of deep sadness and transformation, danger and birth, baptism and gestation. watercolor, water making, water immersion, is returning to the deep, deep mind of god, and the deep mind of creation, and the deep mind of the woman, the female medium. to meet other women who are not only creatives, but also understand the danger and the spark and the fire in water, the fact that water isn’t just a medium that cleanses and washes, that it is something that has brutalized people and killed people and buried people, I think it comes from something much, much deeper and older.” – wangechi muta (link in stories )
