Swarnaa Rajalingam Instagram – Hope everyone’s been having a beautiful festive break and had a Merry Christmas 🎄. Just wanted to take this opportunity to express gratitude for all the people who have waltzed into our lives and showered us and most especially thambi with a lot of love this year ❤️.
Christmases and festive breaks have always been a little overwhelming for me because for many many MANY years I single-handedly always try to do the most purely so my brother has a good time (so elder sister coded right?!). It has definitely burnt me out over the years. So to those that do scroll through social media feeling like their Christmas or festive break doesn’t look as fun and wholesome as others and sometimes feeling very isolated I completely understand. Or to those that never grew up with a big family or loads of cousins – I completely get you. I have come to realise Christmas doesn’t always need to be spent with your blood family but can also be spent with your chosen family and friends. Over the last few years our family has opened its heart to people who have easily BECOME family and it has become nothing short of wholesome.
For those that have experienced loss, experienced heartbreak, experienced distance and change that makes this holiday period challenging, I’m thinking of you and wishing you a healing journey.
