it was a deeply meaningful day at @belcourttheatre. i didn’t take photos. was too immersed. first, a seminar with @newvague about my experiences working with david lynch, who changed my life in every way a life could be changed – about a million more stories i could have told. wonderful questions. thank you all who attended. it was so strange and wonderful to see all the clips from the 4 collaborations i was blessed to have with david. most of all though to reflect on the immeasurable impact he’s had on who i am – as an actor and a musician yes, but also as a human. we not only supported our neighborhood independent non profit movie theater, but donated money to those who are struggling with recovery in the aftermath of the LA fire. then i had the experience of watching the original Dune, david’s 1984 movie, which was my first role. i hadn’t seen it on the big screen since i was 9, at copley plaza in boston the day it came out. watching it with a theater full of nashvillians in my adopted home town – sitting with some of my favorite friends – and hearing your response to 7 year old me on the screen. so many memories of that time in my life are flooding me and i feel deeply moved. you have all helped bring these 4 decades (!!!) full circle. special thank you to my dear friends @franflinnpatton @jeffcohenmusic @youngsummer @chickensplease @costa71 @gypsycliffcreations @elizaann360 for being there and celebrating with me. thank you #belcourttheatre. you are such a gift to our city and it was my honor to be there. they’re screening a ton more #davidlynch movies this week! check their schedule ⭐️ looking forward to playing for you at @3rdandlindsley may 25, with @bengoldsmithmusic airing live on @lightning100 🤍 nashville – you have my heart.

your weekly garden update! hmm. any expert indoor seedling growers that could offer a word or two of wisdom for these unecstatic (but alive and growing) little sustenance givers? i just got some PH and nitrogen testing strips that i’ll try out monday, since tomorrow will be all about my day honoring dear david lynch at the @belcourttheatre (a few tickets remain to my talk and also the 1:15 screening of Dune 1984 – my first movie) i used jiffy brand organic seed starter. it was available and i thought they seemed all the same. could it be less than ideal? i did go ahead and start some more lettuce seeds since these don’t all look wonderful, and they’re already eagerly popping thru. i’ll post about them in my story a bit later. also, eggplant seed update – they are not germinating. it’s been over 14 days. no sign of anything. the eggplant i harvested them from may have been spoiled somehow, i read. those have time stjll. i have some in a wet paper towel now to do a final test. but plan to buy some organic seeds soon. #gardennerd #amateurfarmer #urbanfarm #aliciawitt #nashville #belcourt
