Alicia Witt Instagram – it was a deeply meaningful day at @belcourttheatre. i didn’t take photos. was too immersed. first, a seminar with @newvague about my experiences working with david lynch, who changed my life in every way a life could be changed – about a million more stories i could have told. wonderful questions. thank you all who attended. it was so strange and wonderful to see all the clips from the 4 collaborations i was blessed to have with david. most of all though to reflect on the immeasurable impact he’s had on who i am – as an actor and a musician yes, but also as a human.
we not only supported our neighborhood independent non profit movie theater, but donated money to those who are struggling with recovery in the aftermath of the LA fire.
then i had the experience of watching the original Dune, david’s 1984 movie, which was my first role. i hadn’t seen it on the big screen since i was 9, at copley plaza in boston the day it came out.
watching it with a theater full of nashvillians in my adopted home town – sitting with some of my favorite friends – and hearing your response to 7 year old me on the screen. so many memories of that time in my life are flooding me and i feel deeply moved. you have all helped bring these 4 decades (!!!) full circle.
