2 weeks with our first pottery student @dipannitasharma have come to an end. 🥲 In the past 2 weeks , Dipannita learnt to prepare clay, centre it, throw lots of cylinders, bowls and made a baking dish using hand-building techniques🏺 @dipannitasharma was also our first residential student, and we had plenty of amazing conversations on pottery and life over many cups of coffee and home cooked meals.☕️ 🥘 We look forward to have her back soon later this year , to get more practice and work with bigger quantities of clay while trying out new forms. ✨🌼 #clay #pottery #potter #stoneware #wheelthrownceramics #wheelpottery #goabeach #goastudio #southgoa #southgoldenbeach #beachesofindia #beachpottery #flow #ikigai #yoga #potteryofinstagram #goa #yoga #meditation #claytherapy #ceramics
Clay is mouldable . Clay is magical . It listens to you if you so wish . It is as consistent as you are . It flows as you do . A little extra water & it falls , a little less & it dries up. It’s all about the balance . Yes , much like life , in every which way . In my 2 week pottery course with my amazing instructor/teacher @nikita_rathore09 at @houseofniso I learnt the importance of balance , of slowing down , of enjoying the process rather than getting attached to goals . It’s so helpful to practice this even as an actor I feel , to really enjoy the process of creating , getting into & being in character in the duration of the project until completion but not getting attached to it or the people or the set or the film/series ‘cause the end result isn’t something that is in our control . Detachment is as important as focus & concentration . This experience of ‘throwing’ ( the often used term for pottery ) has been an extension of all that I have been trying to inculcate as an artiste , as an individual… all that I believe in. I am so thankful to @nikita_rathore09 @sohankadian & #Meer for this absolutely wonderful wholesome experience .
