In tactical formations dressed in paint coveralls and with pre-packed lunches in their backpacks, upwards 1,000 people of conscience took to the streets this morning to target MÆRSK, the Danish mega-corporation and shipping company aiding ‘israel’s genocide in Palestine. Based on recent reports by the @palestinianyouthmovement, that have been corroborated by independent research conducted by Danish investigative media @danwatchdk , brave people from all across Europe took it upon themselves to confront MÆRSK with their thousands of shipments of weapon parts and military equipment to the apartheid regime. Despite heavy police surveillance, attempted police blockades, and excessive use of batons, the people managed to break through the police line and occupy MÆRSK’s headquarters in Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. For more than four hours, nothing could break the people’s blockade of MÆRSK! The people of conscience stuck together in solidarity and spoke eloquently to a carefully selected group of journalists from media such as internationally respected @reuters and Danish @informationdk. As a new turn of events, Danish state-funded media @drnyheder and tv2nyhederne showed up and reported in detail on the reason for the protest, the campaign against MÆRSK, and MÆRSK’s role in supplying ‘israel’s occupation force with artillery for its war crimes. For once, the Danish public has been made aware – through BREAKING NEWS across all media outlets – that Denmark’s “pristine” container shipping “pearl”, MÆRSK, is an immoral, unethical, and in every circumstance money-hungry machine that values profit over people and planet. Today was a huge success because of the incredible international community that joined the Cut Ties With Genocide mass protest camp this weekend. Today was made possible because of you, and because of an entirely outstanding level of organisation and logistics. Dr. Mahrang Baloch, an Indigenous human rights activist has been forcibly detained by Pakistani authorities for leading peaceful protests against enforced disappearances, human rights violations, and the exploitation of Balochistan’s indigenous lands and resources. She has been in custody for more than two days now, with very little information on her condition. She was taken from a protest in Quetta,Balochistan after police crackdown which killed three people and injuring dozens. Balochistan has long faced Pakistani state violence, enforced disappearances, and resource exploitation, leading to the displacement of indigenous communities and worsening the impacts of the climate crisis. Thousands of people have been abducted by security forces. Families have been protesting for years, demanding justice, but instead of listening, the government has responded with more violence, arrests, and abductions. Now, Sammi Deen Baloch, leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee alongside others, has also been arrested in Karachi while protesting for Mahrang’s release. Climate justice means standing in solidarity with our comrades from frontline communities. This is a human rights crisis. We need urgent international attention!
