Misha Highstead Instagram – And the scary airplane stories just keep coming!
An American Airlines Boeing 737-800 headed to Dallas Fort Worth reported “engine vibrations” and diverted to Denver… where it caught fire while taxiing to a gate!
Videos showed the plane with black smoke billowing from the engine, as passengers used emergency slides to escape. And one dramatic photo saw a group of passengers standing on the plane’s WING as they waited to get down to the tarmac!
Fortunately, all one hundred and seventy-eight people on the flight were successfully evacuated. Twelve people were transported to hospitals, all with only minor injuries.
STATISTICALLY, flying is incredibly safe – in fact, it’s the SAFEST mode of transportation, with an average of just ONE accident for every eight hundred and ten THOUSAND flights.
