Nandita Das Instagram – In Lahore I was also invited to speak to students and faculty of the National College of Art by historian, Dr. Yaqoob Khan Bangash of ThinkFest and Dean of Design, Dr. Iram Zia Raja.

Bee Gul, one of the prominent scriptwriters in Pakistan was in conversation with me about the female gaze and my journey through social work and cinema. The hall was packed with students waiting outside! They asked thoughtful questions and were an engaged audience. A young girl, who had come all the way from Sindh for the talk, to my surprise, knew all about the Bengali masters and their cinema! I chatted with several Deans and professors of colleges that took time out to attend the session.
The VC, Dr. Jafri hosted a wonderful lunch thereafter. Free flowing meaningful conversation and delicious food. The combination always feels satisfying anywhere in the world!
