screened early edits from new film work on the life (imagined and remembered) of Audre Lorde and performed her essay/speech The Erotic as part of the work in progress program. We had a full house and rich conversation that has propelled me to continue this ongoing work. Much love to my creative collaborator @stevenjamesmeidenbauer together we formed a cinematic language around image and edit that is immersive and intimate. this work moves forward 3 super 8mm reels at a time. IYKYK 🧡✨ thank you Audre for your sweet signs along the way. Thank you @jolie.oliver for embodying Dr Gloria Joseph with me in this experimental approach. Much love to @jocelynjonesstudio where I workshopped the earliest editions via picture exercise. This has been such an aligned entry point to find and explore the character that is the human being.
