Sarah Jeffery Instagram – one for my girls. 🤎 I’ve spoken about it at length in our press run so I’ll keep it short here, but as a biracial woman who didn’t have the fullest opportunity in my youth to explore and celebrate my blackness, this journey has meant more than I could ever put into words. Ladies, thank you for seeing me and taking me in. Thank you for giving me the space to step into my blackness in a way I never have before. I am forever indebted to each one of you, and to Mr. Tyler Perry for seeing me and selecting me to play Dolores. Oh and to my dad, my connection to my African American roots, you’ll always be the strongest man I know. Only as an adult have I realized the strength you had to have raising us in a community that you didn’t see yourself in, and that didn’t see you.
