When I despair I throw myself at a mountain and lie in dirt. Went 8 hrs south by train to the Spanish border and followed the track over the Pyrenees into Spain that Walter Benjamin took fleeing the Nazis. He took his life at the end. I caught the train back. This post answers a lot of questions about what is happening to people around us… I write to a similar idea in my book serialisation and call it Tantrum Energy. I’ve put a link to the free chapter in stories ✌️@ohhthatsrich

@slavojzizeks in high vis giving love advice…the world is getting more stunningly weird
I’m using this platform while I can to stick it up to all the sadnesses of the oligarchs.
“this very moment” featuring @_sarahwilson_ 🌱 Those of you who know me, know how much I admire and respect Sarah Wilson. Author, journalist, podcaster, environmental activist – she’s someone who lives her truth so authentically and unapologetically. I became a massive fan when I read her book “This One Wild and Precious Life” in a Zoom bookclub during the Pandemic, and I have listened to her podcast religiously ever since. To say she’s an inspiration to me, would be a massive understatement. Sarah and I met last Feb when I was performing at the @wanderlustausnz True North event, which she was MCing. Fast forward to midyear, and Sarah suggested we collaborate. She was a few chapters into her latest book, which was being serialised on her Substack. The subject matter was dense and hard going, but something that spoke to me on a cellular level. Sarah’s book is all about what’s unfolding around us right now – collapse. Not just climate, but all the structures that we are reliant on. Political, economic, societal… With dozens of experts backing her, Sarah argues that we’re well past the tipping point now, the crash is inevitable. This may seem like a terribly bleak outlook but I promise, there’s beauty in the breakdown. The rainbow after the storm. We may be headed for the end of everything we know but this is where we strip away the bullshit, and come back to our true nature. It’s when we remember what it is to be human. I chose a passage that spoke deeply to me and Sarah recorded the spoken part from her Paris apartment. I chose the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful field recording, one I’d been sitting on for years. I added all the usual IKSRE-y-ness to it (vocals, viola, synths, piano – even some guitar textures). I wept as I recorded the vocals. She told me she did the same when she heard it. “this very moment” feat. Sarah Wilson is streaming everywhere now. And it’s also available on my Bandcamp as a pay what you feel. Massive love to @ambientmountainhouse James Bernard 🦦 for mastering it, and @xelon for handling the distribution. Meanwhile, subscribe to Sarah’s Substack, “This is Precious” and read the book. It will completely change your life x
