A WhatsApp group of 12- and 13-year-old boys was found engaging in highly inappropriate conversations—sharing explicit content, objectifying classmates, and normalizing harmful behaviors. The disturbing part? Many parents had no idea. Children at this age lack fully developed frontal cortexes, meaning their ability to judge right from wrong is still evolving. Without proper monitoring, they may unknowingly fall into harmful patterns or dangerous interactions online. This isn’t about spying—it’s about guiding them, teaching them digital responsibility, and ensuring they engage in healthy, respectful conversations. As parents, we need to step up.
