Love is Love, Pride began as a Protest, and the @humanrightscampaign is ready for the fight ahead. Courage, hope, and action items were everywhere at our HRC Greater New York fundraiser. Community is everything. I know things feel terrifying for so many of us — the cruelty is the point and the fear is by design — but please know you are not alone. We aren’t going anywhere. Except to court! Because our Constitution protects us, and it’s stronger than any one (smallest) man (who ever lived). We see you. We love you. We stand with you. 💙💛💙

I can’t believe it’s been nearly a week since we gathered for the annual @ejaf Elton John AIDS Foundation fundraiser on Oscars Sunday. It’s always been one of my most cherished nights of artistry and advocacy combined, but this year it felt more precious and imperative than ever… When our government has eviscerated perhaps the most important expression of the best of America’s promise — our aid, assistance, and empathy, all shown in the soft power and best attempt at global unity exemplified by USAID — it’s both a tragedy that it’s on the aid groups, and also a BEACON OF HOPE that the aid groups aren’t going anywhere! We will not abandon each other. We will keep showing up. For our neighbors, both local and global. I cried a little (okay a lot) watching the EJAF raise $8.5 million in the room on Sunday, to continue their live saving work around the world. Proof that we can accomplish so much, no matter who’s in charge, when we lean on community and show the fuck up!! Here’s to us.
