A pregnant elephant was brutally poached for its meat in the East Aprikula Proposed Reserve Forest near the Assam-Meghalaya border. Her decomposed body, discovered deep in the Sonapur Forest Range, suggests she was killed nearly 15 days ago. She was carrying life inside her, yet humans showed no mercy.
Two individuals have been arrested with weapons and elephant meat, suspected to be involved in this horrific act of poaching.
