Rich in history, this handmade garment reflects the Bedouin style of the region, showcasing vibrant motifs and intricate embroidery that are more than just beautiful—they are storytellers. Each stitch carries deep meaning, with symbols like the geometric designs signifying fertility. Palestinian thobes have long marked social status and identity. Each region has its own unique patterns. These garments, carefully crafted by hand over months, were made for life’s major events—weddings, mourning, and daily wear. Today, the thobe is a symbol of cultural resistance and pride, worn at protests and global events to assert Palestinian identity. This photograph celebrates that resilience and the vital role of preserving these timeless traditions for future generations. تَرتدي أماني جحا ثوبًا فلسطينياً تقليديًا من مدينة بئر السبع عمره فوق ال 65 عامًا، وقد تم توريثه عبر الأجيال كإرث عائلي. هذا الثوب اليدوي غني بالتاريخ ويعكس أسلوب البدو في المنطقة، حيث تظهر الزخارف النابضة بالحياة والتطريز الدقيق الذي ليس فقط جميلاً، بل يروي قصصًا. كل غرزة تحمل معنى عميقًا، فمثلاً ترمز التصاميم الهندسية الخصوبة. لطالما كان الثوب الفلسطيني علامة على المكانة الاجتماعية والهوية. ولكل منطقة في فلسطين أنماطها الفريدة. هذه الأثواب، التي يتم صنعها بعناية يدويًا على مدار شهور، صُنعت لتناسب المناسبات المهمة في الحياة، مثل حفلات الزفاف، والحداد، واللباس اليومي. اليوم، يمثل الثوب رمزًا للمقاومة الثقافية والفخر، حيث يُرتدى في المظاهرات والمناسبات العالمية للتأكيد على الهوية الفلسطينية. تحتفي هذه الصورة بتلك القوة والصمود، والدور الهام في الحفاظ على هذه التقاليد الخالدة للأجيال القادمة.
