Nadia Jamil Instagram - Ma, me and my Uncles from Delhi on a Cold December Lahore night. Hot, fresh, full cream milk with freshly made jalebis, perfect gulab jamans, and we forgot to take pictures of the potato samosas which we wolfed down WITH crunchy daal maash jalebis, red chutney and chana chutney. Gotta love Mama Sweet Shop. Took the kheer and namak paras home!

Mama Sweet Shop is one of the oldest sweet shops in Lahore. It’s also got divine fresh probiotic yogurt. Just off Wahdat Road, main Muslim Town Road. Lahore. You can find their number on the Internet under Mama Sweet Shop.

Nadia Jamil - 5K Likes - When I walked into Bradlaugh Hall, I immediately go goosebumps. This magical treasure nestled in old Lahore, has the most magnificent acoustics! Listening to @kamranlashari75 share the history of the Hall, hearing of the passionate speeches held here by Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Gandhi & others, made me imagine the fervour of pre Independence, the desire to be independent of colonial rule.

When invited to share a kalaam, I chose the same one I sing everywhere…. the powerful Saif Ul Malook… BUT as I knew it would be, it was different live in this space. The acoustics magnified and echoed my voice throughout. The emotions in the audience were electric and moved me to the core, feeding my own energy. I’m convinced that the power of that moment also came from this incredible space!

The renovation process is still underway, but even the original facade, standing strong with the incredible support and work of @walledcityoflahoree , is utterly remarkable! Thank God it was found and is getting the tender love and care it deserves.

This space was made for audiences to enjoy speeches, talks, mushairas, performances of drama, dance and music!

This song “Piya tose naina lagay” was a favourite of mine to dance to as a little girl. Had a great time letting that little girl out to dance with the stunning Samo, who is such a fantastic dancer, as wonderful Bhai and beautiful Fzay sang to perfection.

Nothing like good friends who are authentic, real, down to earth, brilliantly talented, spontaneous and fun.

We couldn’t be bothered if anyone was watching or not, we just danced from our hearts as they sang from theirs. 😂

Grateful for these people and such moments in my life. Always always always. Even when I’m 90 years old!

I hope @govtofpunjabpk @maryamnawazofficial @shehbazsharif @phdec.pk @walledcitylahoreauthority can work with @ravibachaotehreek & @abuzarmadhu to find solutions to clean up the banks and our Bara Dari and protect it from further toxic chemicals and waste. This was not water in the Ravi bed, IT WAS POISON.

And YES NEXT TIME I WILL TAKE GLOVES FOR US ALL.

Nadia Jamil - 1.4K Likes - Over 3 years & some months ago my heart recognised my daughter so completely & openly, without a seconds doubt or hesitation it felt what it felt, an overwhelming sense of love & commitment to a beautiful baby girl. She was visually challenged but that just made my heart feel more determined. The innate happiness & self confidence she was born with would only grow stronger, sight or no sight.

My head also responded to my hearts command with clear creativity & decided no matter what came our way, this relationship would work, her life would be full of the love & opportunities her brothers have. Nuri was going to be the Queen of my heart from now on. Head brain knew I had all the resources within me to raise my children. It was as confident as my heart brain. And my gut simply picked Nur up & bought her home. Holding her & being her Ma, was the natural & intuitive thing to do. Zero hesitation. Zero second guessing when people told me I was too old, recovering from Cancer, she was visually challenged, I lived in Cambridge, the paperwork was going to take time. My gut knew, we got this. My heart, head & gut aligned like magic, autonomically, recognising, feeling & doing what had to be done.

Best truth of my life was recognising & knowing Nuri is my amazing daughter. She is the most precious gift for our family. Each one of us adores her & values the joy she has brought into our lives. She is determined, confident, joyful, kind, bright & bold. She has my curls & my confidence, and her dad’s love of school! She loves to dance, read ( yes! Alhamdolillah she can see now), wrestle, tickle & watch Peppa cartoons. She goes to school & ballet & is joining the local football club next week.

So this is me saying, when the heart wants to love, allow it, open it, invite your head to plan ways to expand it & your gut to act & embrace it.

Let me add, I was ready for this love, because I had worked on, & had started THE most important journey of learning to accept, love & deeply respect MYSELF. That’s why there was no hesitation, no fear & no doubts.
Self respect & self love bring a beautiful level of coherence to life, compassionately, creatively, courageously ♥️🙏🏽🤲🏽

@humanrightswatch has just shared a video that will chill you to your bones if you are living in Lahore.

My gut is telling me to pack our bags and leave, but the rest of my family is not budging. So along other Lahoris I continue to expose my children, mother, and mother in law to these fumes and inhale them myself. Even with a strong history of cancer, I choose to continue to live in my beloved, choking, polluted Lahore.

What have we done to her? Our beautiful city of gardens. As we simply allow car after car to fill up homes of the wealthy, we ignore quality public transport that can and should be used more by one and all, we forgo the crop burning and may brick kilns, the coal burning and the tree chopping, as we slowly forget the plastics that our choking our rivers and the chemicals we dump into oceans, we allow our hearts to harden.

They say the heart brain has between 30000 to 120,000 neurons. The older we get the less they are. But there are some 70 year olds with as many neurons around their cardio neurology as children. They kept using their emotional intelligence and made sure it is full of vitality. How are you treating your heart brain? Are you allowing it to feel? Are you empathising? Because you know, if you don’t use it, you lose it.
Have a heart and speak up for cleaner air in Punjab.

Lahore is a gas chamber right now. Please pray for rain and for us to find and implement solutions that last into our future.

Today one of the kindest, sweetest, funnest, funniest, most beautiful souls in the world was born.

Aba was a one of a kind husband. His love story with @nusciejamil is legendary. She was the centre of his universe, his Sun. He was a fantastic father, a loving brother, a doting son, caring Uncle, loved employer, great friend & spectacular human being.

Aba loved all things beautiful. He loved beautiful moon lit nights, good music of any kind, poetry, literature, movies, dogs, birds, his couch, his fig & mango trees. He was a gentle, romantic man, & a deeply practicing Sufi, who sensed the Divne in everything & who loved to find humour & joy everywhere.

He taught us to love deeply, to enjoy & pursue knowledge & develop a refined taste for anything & everything…to laugh easily, not take ourselves to seriously & to forgive & forget for one’s ease of mind.

He loved life but was so calm, fearless & ready to meet his maker, when he was leaving, solid in the knowledge that he had never wronged a living being, & certain in his Love for Allah.
Aba surrendered to his Faith with complete Tawakul.

He told me that if I was regular in prayer & meditation, after his death, I would be able to meet him at a spiritual plane, beyond the mere physical, & Alhamdolillah it is true. I know today Bhai @ofj2101 & I learn from him & sense him at a whole other level.

Abu is the calm in my heart. I often feel his smile deep within my soul. His blood, genetic memory, DNA, his wisdom courses through me beyond even a cellular level.

There is not a moment in my day that I don’t thank Allah for the miraculous gift of a father like you @jaliljamil

Our region boasts some of the most fabulous textiles and craftsman ship in textiles and garments. From different kinds of embroideries, to rillis, patchwork, different goTaa work, to dresses embellished with shells, coins and silver tassels, to the different cuts and styles. Ghararas, Ghararas, Saris, Chooridars, Angharkas, Shalwar Kameez, Shalwar Kurta, Pajama Kurta, Dhotis, Lehngas, PaTiyala shalwars, Traditional dresses from Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Kalaash, Sindh, Punjab, Kashmir, KPK, different chadars, duppatata, from cotton to chiffon, lawn to velvet, silks, banarsis, khaddar, to handwoven looms in wools and cottons, plain, embroidered or block printed. A day all who loved Abu are deeply grateful for!

Today one of the kindest, sweetest, funnest, funniest, most beautiful souls in the world was born.

Aba was a one of a kind husband. His love story with @nusciejamil is legendary. She was the centre of his universe, his Sun. He was a fantastic father, a loving brother, a doting son, caring Uncle, loved employer, great friend & spectacular human being.

Aba loved all things beautiful. He loved beautiful moon lit nights, good music of any kind, poetry, literature, movies, dogs, birds, his couch, his fig & mango trees. He was a gentle, romantic man, & a deeply practicing Sufi, who sensed the Divne in everything & who loved to find humour & joy everywhere.

He taught us to love deeply, to enjoy & pursue knowledge & develop a refined taste for anything & everything…to laugh easily, not take ourselves to seriously & to forgive & forget for one’s ease of mind.

He loved life but was so calm, fearless & ready to meet his maker, when he was leaving, solid in the knowledge that he had never wronged a living being, & certain in his Love for Allah.
Aba surrendered to his Faith with complete Tawakul.

He told me that if I was regular in prayer & meditation, after his death, I would be able to meet him at a spiritual plane, beyond the mere physical, & Alhamdolillah it is true. I know today Bhai @ofj2101 & I learn from him & sense him at a whole other level.

Abu is the calm in my heart. I often feel his smile deep within my soul. His blood, genetic memory, DNA, his wisdom courses through me beyond even a cellular level.

There is not a moment in my day that I don’t thank Allah for the miraculous gift of a father like you @jaliljamil
I miss your hugs & the look on your face whenever I entered a room, but I’m so blessed with what you leave us with & who you were & still are for me.

On TWO occasions the child pushes the man’s hand away from his chest and on one occasion pushes the man hands away from a lower part of the child’s body.

The child is crying and utterly lost. They mock the child’s tears.

This is one child in thousands and thousands of children left to fend off predators and users, abusers, in Pakistan.

Children are abused by their own families, in schools ,madrasahs, and the damage is so devastating that they often grow up with serious manic mental health disorders.

As a practitioner working with such children and young adults, I beg the @govtofpakistan to take charge of our children and build a National Child Protection System, that understand and follows the protocols of safeguarding every child’s safety and right to dignity and thriving.

Thank you @cpwbpunjab and CPWBS amazing Chair Person @sahmad1986 for taking the child in this video in protective custody.

I have watched young Rizwana THRIVE at the Bureau Alhamdolillah and pledge to support every endeavour of the Bureau to make sure this young child thrives and has a good future.

Caption : And so my Coaching Practice has finally got a beautiful logo and business card, that sums up the core of my practice, NLP & mBIT. Thank you to my GENIUS nephew and colleague @zainakbar6868 for his fantastic artistic talent in designing the card and being the artistic brilliance behind the designs I use in my work. Every card, manual, post has been designed by Zain with such commitment, passion, fun and diligence. The tree logo, the colours, indigo with the red centre, the heart brain, head brain and gut brain all part of the tree and its core, roots and branches. Beautiful work! I cannot WAIT to use more of his stunning designs in my work and for @reckless._apparel as well! And thank you @tahirababar for the original The Empty Space design. The lights shining over the empty space has been a metaphor for the light we choose to shine over our own state, mind, Self. I still use that as a back drop to my logo. The Emptiness is now filled with of the tree with its brains, growing and spreading its fruit. Alhamdolillah.

Nadia Jamil - 234 Likes - She simply loved the little reading cubbies! Uff. There is something for everyone! Mir, Mehvish Baji, Nur and I all became members of the amazing @aliflaila_official @aliflaila_bookbussociety today. I picked up two books on herbal remedies and Ayurveda, Mir picked up two books, so did Mahvish Baji, and Nuri picked up two amazing books. Nuri played in the play area, did some recreational work in the Early Learning Area, and then we bought a whole bunch of beautiful arts and crafts and a book, the proceeds for some specific products go to Palestine, the rest to women from the local community, who made the arts and crafts. The main library is awesome with a ladder that you can slide around the room as you search the shelves. The bus is fascinating and super cozy. The best thing is that Nuri learned the concept of BORROWING books and returning them once she has read them. Danny and The Dinosaur is a great award winning book and has become such a favourite that we’ve read it thrice already in one evening.

The book called Gardens Of Hope is a beautiful work of art written and illustrated BY THE CHILDREN OF PALESTINE.
