My brother can vouch for me when I say this:
I have been watching cooking shows for as long as I can remember.
When my family finally upgraded to a flat screen
I asked them if I could keep the box tv in my room (connected to cable of course)
So I could binge watch the food network all night long… 📺
Thus my passion for all things culinary began🩷
Though I can strongly say I am no chef,
I started @bakerwithabook to journal the little meals I tried to make, the yummy bites I got to taste, and most importantly, the many many times food brought my favorite people together.
And in a way, that’s why I felt so honored to meet @chefedwardlee in person.
A true legend in the culinary world, he was exactly how I expected him to be: kind, courteous and warm.
When I —like most of you last year— watched him on Culinary Wars, I remembered thinking, I can really resonate with his identity struggle as an Asian raised up in North America.
But food will always be a way to connect.
And it’s definitely the most delicious universal love language too 😉
