Our hearts are completely shattered as we write this, but we lost our sweetest, most precious little boy, Theo.
He passed unexpectedly while playing on the beach after a hike, which was a completely normal day for him. The autopsy revealed nothing but healthy organs & tissue. No signs of a heart attack, a spinal disease, any toxins in his system or an obstructed airway. We keep trying to find a why, but ultimately no reason will change the outcome.
The sound of his little fast footsteps, the way he would sit on our laps like a little child after dinner each night, his funny little hiding places we use to find him in all over the house, his excessively fast radar to detect any snack in sight and his soft little kisses are just a few of the things we will miss the most about him.
He was mama’s little baby and daddy’s wild boy & he loved nothing more than going on big boy hikes in the hills with his dad & big brother Koda!!!!
His little body leaves the biggest hole in our home and in our hearts, but more than anything our hearts are immensely filled with gratitude that we got to be his mom & dad while he was here. He was only 9 weeks old when we got him & I so vividly remember thinking that we took him from his mama, so now it was our role to love & to nurture and care for him. Koda is our boy, but Theo was our baby and I truly felt like he taught me how to love and care for something in a way I never had before.
The outpouring of love & messages from our closest people has captured exactly who he was. He brought a smile to everybody’s face that saw him, everyone that met him loved him, specially kids!!! He had a sweetness & a spark that lit up every room. We couldn’t wait for him to be a big brother one day ❤️ but now, he will forever be this family’s little guardian angel.
We hope heaven is filled with beef wellington, all the cheese & your little teddy bear guy you loved so much.
