Sometimes during the thick of the hardest moments, we don’t have the bandwidth to process everything that is happening to us. Call it “out of office brain”. There’s only so much we can handle and our bodies know we must make it through whatever the crisis is-whether that be a treatment, a surgery, an illness, a divorce, a loss…..we get through it, and then as @nikdeloach says-you’re left holding this pile of sh$t afterwards going….now what. That’s the hard part-friends and caregivers that’s AS hard as the journey through the crisis! Processing takes time. Healing takes time. Doctors weren’t trained-simply put-to see the signs and those who were are run ragged by a broken healthcare system that ties two hands behind their back trying their best to get patients properly diagnosed and treated as best they can.
