2025 그래미 어워드 3관왕, 세인트 빈센트가 지난 달 서울을 찾았다. 단순히 ‘위대한’ 아티스트 정도로 표현하기에 세인트 빈센트는 이미 아티스트의 아티스트 그 위로 올라선 지 오래. 무대 위에서 미친 듯이 기타를 갈아 치우며 음악과 하나가 되고, 카메라 앞에서는 단숨에 스튜디오를 자신만의 무대로 바꾸는 힘을 가진 것이 세인트 빈센트다. 그가 데이비드 보위의 ‘Station to Station’에 맞춰 연신 몸을 흔들던 매 순간을 헤아려 본다.
St. Vincent, the 3x winner at Grammys 2025, visited Seoul last month. To call her simply a ”great“ artist would be an understatement—she has long ascended beyond that, an artist‘s artist, and then some. On stage, she frenetically swaps guitars, becoming one with the music; in front of the camera, she transforms the studio into her own stage in an instant. One can’t help but recount every moment she swayed to David Bowie‘s ‘Station to Station’, completely lost in the rhythm.
