Check out what happened to my body when I cut back on my HIIT training in favor of a mix of Pilates & low impact (heavy) resistance training. 🤯
I’m less exhausted from my workouts, but I still FEEL all the work. My strength & balance have improved and a lot of the imbalances I’ve been dealing with from scoliosis and injuries are starting to correct. It might not look like a big difference to some, it’s about 3-4 pounds and a lot of inflammation. But THE WIN & what my goal is/was, was how I feel.
Let me be clear, this does not mean HIIT is bad or that I don’t like HIIT. It means that at different stages & phases we need different things for our bodies. You have to be willing to change it up, to adapt, to try new things and most importantly to never give up. If somethings not working ask why? Be honest with yourself & continue to look for the answers. For me, my hormones had been out of balance, especially my cortisol. This switch up is really helping my body recover from excessive stress while keeping it fun, interesting & challenging.
