It’s another close call for me in my quest to win a World Series of Poker bracelet. 3rd place out of 3,446 entries in the Mystery Millions event here at @wsop Paradise. Focusing on the positives, though, so here are a couple of highlights from the tournament: -Overall day one chip leader -Overall day two chip leader -Final table chip leader -Won 15 bounties including Jungleman’s bounty (he can’t escape me) -Really happy with how I played overall Ultimately, I lost A3<KJ and 44<A9 when the average stack was only about 17bbs. I can’t do much about that. Still hoping for the day when the stars align for me; until then, thanks for the love. 🫶 📸: @PokerNews / Tomas Stacha #poker #gamergirl #pokerlife #mindsports #travel

Wow. What a ride. Winning Game of Gold is right up there with some of my proudest poker accomplishments. I’m so glad this show provided a format for me to show the different sides of who I am, from the intensity and fierceness with which I approach a competitive endeavor to just vibing out and having fun with my peers, to giving out so…. so many high-fives. Poker is such a unique way of life, the act of playing can be so lonely and isolating at times. What stood out to me most in this competition was how a great team dynamic seemed to elevate the entire experience for me. The long-lasting friendships and memories from this are something I will take with me forever. In a skill game with an element of luck, you never want to mistakenly attribute good gameplay when you get a good result, or blame the play of others when you get a not-so-good one. For me, a balance I constantly strive for is never to be complacent with what I’ve achieved but also not to let self-doubt take over after the times when I fall short. Poker has taught me so much about myself and has undoubtedly made me more resilient. You’re not just as good as your last win or as bad of a player as your last mistake. The thing I love most about #poker is there’s always more to learn, and always room to improve. It’s a game that has humbled me time and time again, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. For a brief moment, though, I’ll let myself enjoy this win. It felt, to quote someone I just watched a lot of on YouTube, “F*cking amazing.” And then it’s back to learning more about this game that I love and the lessons it teaches me about life. To those who rooted for me along the way… thank you. I felt so much love in my corner these last few weeks, which is another aspect that I will forever cherish. To everyone involved- GG, the production team led by Spunky, Kay for taking care of us, the crew, and the dealers…thanks for all your efforts and for providing Jungle with a couch comfy enough to fall asleep on every day, and for keeping us a little too well-fed while we were locked in those rooms. Everyone sets out at the start of a new year with a fresh perspective on life, but for me, something that hasn’t changed is leading with my core values. To approach life from a place of gratitude and to treat people with empathy and kindness. These days, my priorities have never been more in focus. I’ll never settle and will always keep striving, but I’m finally choosing to let myself celebrate the small wins and enjoy how far I’ve come. I’m also slowly learning to define myself and my self-worth by who I am and not what I do, even though there’s still so much more I want to accomplish. Thanks for coming along for the ride, fam. The best is yet to come for us all! 💓 #2024 #mondaymotivation #poker #womeninbusiness #womeninspiringwomen #gamer

Volunteering is good for the soul – and what better way to wrap up the year than to do something kind? My family (including my sis @maria_ho) and I made 100 snack packs for @dwcweb this morning. The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) envisions a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Its mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy. They offer many ways to help, including make at home snack packs (what we did) and opportunities to assist at their downtown location. Check out their profile @dwcweb to learn about their services and volunteer opportunities! Check out their 2022 impact: 5,758 women served 516 women accessed vocational services 99% permanent housing retention rate 108,446 meals served 2,339 mental health sessions provided 208 women housed 34,441 case management sessions provided 2,051 women served by health services 88 women served through interim housing site What’s your favorite way to help?
Happy to be back at @hardrockholly for the Lucky Hearts Poker Open series. It’s nice to escape the cold winter and a little sun run can’t hurt! ☀️ The main event with a $2 Milly guarantee starts today and I’m already in the mix. Let’s start the year off with a bang! 🧨 🎥 : @lizzmatic #poker #pokerlife #gamergirl #mindsport #travel
