Make up and Hair by @miki.withlove 💞 Happy New Year Everyone ❤️🎉 I spent the day reading, cleaning the house, walking Maggie and dancing in the kitchen. Tonight we are staying in and cooking – with lots of sparkling wine and a good film. I guess I’m old because all this seems to me to be the definition of very good luck. It’s a very weird night isn’t it though? So I hope you’re all ok. And remember the internal is more important than the external. See you on the other side! Xxx So very saddened to hear of the passing of @josephsinclair – incredibly kind photographer and human. These are from One of my first ever “proper” photo shoots – I was still very nervous in front of a stills camera, but when asked if I wanted to do a shoot with dogs for the @rspca_official of course I said yes. Joe was there with his dog – the inimitable @stewiesinclair (who I hope you’re with now ❤️) – and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and loving because everyone was there to do a good thing for dogs as well as have some fun making cool pictures. – I don’t want to take away from the shock, grief and pain that I’m sure those who are closest to him are going through by pretending I was one of them. But it’s just incredibly sad and I’m so sorry to all of you who loved him. 🤍 So very saddened to hear of the passing of @josephsinclair – incredibly kind photographer and human. I can’t express how grateful I feel this time around (this not being my first January sun-seeking holiday) for the injection of light, warmth, sea-swimming and just visual feast of green that we got on this trip. Coming from the grey wintry city of London into that reminded me of Dorothy stepping into technicolour Oz. Vitamin D levels feel sufficiently topped up to get us through to Spring. Coincidentally but appropriately – whilst there, the book I read was “The Beginning of Spring” by Penelope Fitzgerald, which was just a wonderful, mysterious delight and will now forever be associated in my mind with that island, and being able to see green mountains from where I was lying on my bed (pic of this view in last slide.) broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 broadening the mind 🙏 very grateful for some healing and restorative vitamin D and family time ❤️ My New Year’s resolution is to be Italian. Such a fab Xmas present thank you @lauracurlyking & @larrykinghair 😍❤️🍝 excuse the rubbish dishing up from me. 🙏 (For the foodies among you we did the homemade tagliatelle with a very simple tomato sauce – roasted tomatoes on the vine in oil, then transferred dish from oven to hob, removed vines, added garlic, onion, basil and a teaspoon of sugar and simmered before tossing in with plenty of pasta water. Served with parm and chilli flakes optional 🍅🥂) Go forth, book, and find someone who needs you ❤️ Sundays with @nell.hudson ☕️ Hey Sunday Girls, we are so excited to bring back the next installment with our Agony Aunt, @nell.hudson !! Nell’s book ‘Just For Today’ tells all the muddles of love and friendship, that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Have YOUR muddle solved by the author in our upcoming print magazine out for International Women’s Day🫶 🤍 🕊️ We have to remember Individually that we must be peaceful, loving beings if we want the world to be a peaceful loving place. (Hence my last slide) I highly recommend listening to @thisjungianlifepodcast episode on Why Does Social Media Weaponise Our Reactions from last November. If we can’t keep it civil in the comments, etc etc. Obviously – *obviously* – it should go without saying that H@m^s are a terrorist organisation, that I condemn them, and the attack on October 7th, and any attack on Jewish people, is unforgivable. This really should go without saying. It’s incredibly destructive to think that to call out the genocide that is now happening should be considered controversial. When I was a child we had children from Gaza come and stay in our home for a bit in the summer. We all sat down to draw pictures with coloured pencils, and whilst we were drawing flowers and horses the children from Gaza drew guns and bodies. The children’s recreational creative expression was to draw guns and corpses. The way things are going there will be no more children in Gaza. I am deeply appalled by what is going on. #ceasefirenow 🤍 🕊️ We have to remember Individually that we must be peaceful, loving beings if we want the world to be a peaceful loving place.
