Stacey Abrams Instagram - Georgia, thank you. I got into this race for one reason and one reason only: to fight. And not just any fight. A fight to save Georgia. A fight on behalf of our children and generations to come. A fight on behalf of our people. A fight for basic human rights that we take for granted and a fight for the values that we hold dear. I know that throughout this campaign, Georgians’ stories were told and lives were changed because of what we did together. This isn't about politics or even policies. It has always been about people because they are the heart of our campaign. Over the last year, in big cities and small towns, in living rooms and classrooms across the state, I have met thousands of people face to face. From the college students I talked to in a coffee shop in Milledgeville to the oldest resident who came out to our rally in Baconton, they wake up every morning wanting more for themselves and their families. What gives me hope is that across this great state, countless Georgians were ready to come off the sidelines and fight for the Georgia of our greatest imagination. And that matters. So to every volunteer, every organizer, every door knocker, every phone banker, every texter, every prayer warrior, every donor, every dreamer and believer, every person who lifted your hands and lifted your voices. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the people of Georgia, thank you for believing in me and for fighting for change with me. Righteous fights never end. Let's keep getting it done.

Stacey Abrams Instagram - My name is Stacey Yvonne Abrams and I’m running to be the next governor of the great state of Georgia. I began this journey in June 2017, when I stood in Chehaw Park in Albany to announce my candidacy for governor. I ran for 16 months. By the end of the campaign, our team had mobilized the most diverse coalition Georgia had ever seen before. Even as the odds mounted against us, and Republicans worked hard to decrease access to voting, we fought to the very end. With hope. With determination. But I didn’t get the job in 2018. Losing was tough. I grappled with how to navigate the public loss of that election and show my face again. How to move forward without giving up. Then I reminded myself of why I ran in the first place: to do the work. To lift up our families. To keep our children safe and expand their access to education. To make sure Georgians could afford quality healthcare regardless of where they live. So I didn’t quit. I changed my how but never lost what drives me. And I decided to try again because I know Georgia could be extraordinary if we truly invested in our people. I believe in meeting people where they are, not where you want them to be. I believe that if we want people to turn out, we have to show that it is worth the pain of hope. But it’s not about 2018, 2020, or 2021 anymore. This year, we face a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make unprecedented progress. We look to the future and imagine the incredible, unthinkable story that we can write for ourselves and for our families only if we have a governor who sees all of us. It’s why I know it’s worth it to fight. To try again. To do everything we can to win. Georgia — so much of our future is on the ballot. I need you to shake off the disappointment of the past and the distrust of unfulfilled promises because I won’t let you down. At my lowest moment, I couldn’t let apathy and cruelty win. And now, we can't afford to let this chance to shape the future slip away. We deserve better. We can have more. But only if we demand it. I never stopped fighting for our future, and I never will. So let's do this together. And, this time, let’s get it done.

Stacey Abrams Instagram - My dad, the incredible Rev. Robert Abrams, is the first feminist I ever knew. He raised his four daughters and two sons to believe in our capacity to do anything – to be anything – we wanted. Gender, like race, were never going to be permanent obstacles for us. The world, he warned us, would not always see us or believe in us, but he did. Even as he labored as a shipyard worker, he imagined great futures for his children, never doubting they’d come to pass. Dad grew up in Mississippi, in the segregated South, with undiagnosed dyslexia. Unable to read at grade level, he memorized his way through school, determined to learn and defy the odds. Despite being dismissed by his teachers and mocked by his peers, my dad not only finished high school; he became the first man in his family to go to college. Later, at the age of 40, he and my mother entered the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where they earned their Masters of Divinity. My dad is committed to uplifting those around him. Over the years, I have watched him practice what he preaches. Service to hundreds of homeless men and women in the soup kitchen at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Midtown. Mentorship for troubled young men and standing up to the powerful despite the odds. Whether through his dedication to the prison ministry or his protests to guarantee a living wage for hourly workers, my father believes in doing right by others. Every day. A Black man raised me to dream and plan and do - whether that was starting my first business or running for governor. Because of him, I am. And I’ll never do less than he expects.
